NOVA Police to Partner with Va. State Police to Offer Free VIN Etching, Sept. 24 and 25

September 23, 2024 / Events

The NOVA Police Department is collaborating with the Virginia State Police’s (VSP) Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) program to offer free VIN etching at our Annandale and Loudoun campuses.

VIN etching involves permanently engraving your vehicle’s identification number (VIN) onto the windshield and windows. This process uses a stencil of your VIN to etch the number onto your vehicle’s glass. VIN etching acts as a deterrent to theft, as it makes it more difficult and costly for thieves to replace the etched glass. Additionally, many insurance companies offer discounts for vehicles protected by VIN etching.

Please see below for more details.
