Mentor a Nighthawk!

If you would like to directly support student success — specifically, the five pillars of access, retention, completion, transfer and employability — please consider becoming a mentor. Many of our Nighthawks are seeking personal, academic and professional support in the form of a mentoring relationship. A host of folks across the College are already serving as informal mentors, and they’ve seen our Nighthawks achieve their goals at NOVA and beyond. Mentorship matters!

The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement, in collaboration with Business Engagement and Career Services, is launching the Momentum mentorship program. We are still recruiting and training mentors. The program is being implemented in partnership with MentorVA, an organization focused on increasing equity by developing strong mentorships across Virginia.

Ask your dean if the Momentum program could be an option for your Annual Performance and Professional Development Objectives (APPDOs).
