A Summary of Communications to Students on All Access

October 2, 2024 / General NOVA News

The fall semester has seen the rollout of NOVA All Access, the new textbook service administered by Barnes & Noble. Information on All Access has been shared with students, faculty and staff by various means over the past few months, including:

  • Nighthawk News and Daily Flyer articles
  • Social media stories and posts
  • Email and text messaging
  • Signage and flyers on campus
  • Email communications from Barnes & Noble
  • NOVA’s website

To date, students have received two Nighthawk News articles, 15 social media posts/stories, more than 15 NOVA email communications and ongoing emails from Barnes & Noble, including welcome messages and a selection reminder sent every two days to students who still need to choose how to receive their course materials. Additionally, faculty and staff have received 26 Daily Flyer articles on NOVA All Access in order to help their students along in the process.

As we all continue to interact with NOVA All Access, communications are continuously being revised and expanded to remain responsive to NOVA’s student population. This includes additions to the website’s FAQ section, timely communications around emerging concerns and support from campus bookstore personnel.

The college will continue to solicit feedback from students, faculty and staff on NOVA All Access, and to use that feedback to shape communications and implementation efforts going forward.
