New Workshop: Engagement For Active Learning Online
Are you looking for effective strategies to energize student engagement in hybrid or online courses? Whether you are teaching synchronously on Zoom or asynchronously on Canvas, this workshop series is designed to equip you with dynamic active learning strategies for both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. Join us with a group of seasoned faculty members from both NOVA and George Mason University (GMU) as we explore hands-on strategies that enhance student participation, increase social presence, build community and promote deeper learning. We will examine the rationales behind active learning approaches, dive into real-world examples from experienced faculty and collaborate to address the unique challenges of teaching online. Each session offers an opportunity to discuss your own concerns, share best practices with colleagues and leave with strategies you can implement immediately. With one hour of investment into each session, you will walk away with fresh ideas to invigorate your teaching and foster a more engaging learning experience for your students in the online space.
