Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities

  1. Getting Your Affairs in Order: Documents for Life – Tuesday October 8, 1 p.m.
    Be proactive and learn about the essential documents everyone should have in place to prepare for the unexpected. Join us to empower yourself with the knowledge you need to protect your loved ones and secure your legacy. Please note that this session will be held as a Zoom webinar.

  2. Transforming Rigid Thinking into Growth Mindsets – Friday October 11, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
    Delve into the factors that lead to rigid thinking and explore practical strategies to spark growth. We’ll identify what holds us back and create an action plan for embracing nuanced thinking. Please note that this session will be held in person at Pender 4, Fairfax.

  3. ACE Conference for Classified Employees – Tuesday October 15, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
    Designed with your feedback in mind, our ACE Conference for classified staff offers over 20 diverse workshop sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge. With topics ranging from leadership insights to soft skills and networking, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out—registration closes on October 9 at 5 PM! In-person with some Zoom sessions, Ernst Cultural Center, Annandale.

  4. Stress Management: Building Resiliency – Monday October 21, 12 p.m.
    Struggling to balance work and home life? This Zoom webinar will help you recognize emotional and physical signs of stress, such as sleep disruptions and irritability. Learn practical tools to restore balance and enhance your well-being. Please note that this session will be held as a Zoom webinar.

  5. Leadership For All Series: Understanding Governance and Shared Governance– Wednesday October 23, 1 p.m.
    Our Leadership for All series continues, providing deeper insights into our college and shared governance with Amanda Wilder, Associate Director of Federal Relations and Jose Dimas, Director of Government Affairs. Please note that this session will be held as a Zoom webinar.

    Is it possible to meet the competing demands of job, family, and personal life? Yes! Discover the Five Buckets Principle of work-life balance, focusing on priorities and managing expectations while making time for yourself. Please note that this session will be held as a Zoom webinar.

  7. Introspection and its Impact on Dialogue: Enhancing Conflict Resolution – Friday November 1, 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
