NOVA Police to Host DEA Drug Takeback Event, Saturday, Oct. 26
NOVA Police will participate in the 27 Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Drug Takeback Event on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event will take place at both the Woodbridge and Annandale campuses, providing a convenient opportunity for community members to dispose of their unused or expired medications safely.
Safely disposing of medications is crucial in preventing drug abuse and accidental poisonings, which can pose serious risk to individuals, especially children and pets. Furthermore, proper disposal helps protect the environment by ensuring that harmful substances do not contaminate water sources or soil.
Participants are encouraged to bring their unused or expired medications for safe disposal, but please note that syringes will not be accepted at this event. This initiative is an important step toward promoting public health and safety within our communities. Below are the details for the participating campuses:
- Woodbridge Campus, Workforce Development Center WRC Building (Main Entrance)
- Annandale Campus, CA Building Lobby (Main Entrance)
We hope to see you there as we work together to keep our community safe and healthy!
