OWMH Fall Mental Health Provider Vendor Fairs Continue Today
In April 2024, the Office of Wellness and Mental Health (OWMH) hosted its inaugural Mental Health Provider Database (MHPD) Vendor Fairs on all six campuses. The fairs were a great success, and we’re excited to host them again this fall. Did you know that the OWMH maintains a database of more than 200 licensed and certified wellness and mental health providers? The vendor fair provides an opportunity for registered vendors to come to campus; engage with students, faculty and staff; and share information about their services and other valuable resources. Invited vendors have practices that are geographically located near all six of our campuses, and some even offer virtual services for our NOVA Online students.
October is known for its many wellness and mental health initiatives, including Emotional Wellness Month, Health Literacy Month, ADHD Awareness Month, Depression Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This is a great way to kick off, highlight and discuss various wellness and mental health challenges. Knowing where to seek support is how we cultivate a culture of care and reduce the stigma associated with seeking wellness and mental health support.
We ask that you share this announcement and plan to stop by your campus vendor fair for additional valuable information. Please email wellness@nvcc.edu with any questions.
