Government Affairs to Be Featured in Lunch-and-Learn, POSTPONED

October 23, 2024 / HR News/Training

This event has been postponed. Please watch for a new date.

Join us today for the next session in our “Leadership for All” series. We will delve into the essential role of NOVA’s Office of Government Affairs. Presented by Amanda Wilder, associate director of federal relations, and Jose Dimas, director of government affairs, this session will highlight how the office advocates for the college’s interests at the federal, state and local levels.

The Office of Government Affairs acts as a vital liaison with government officials, ensuring that our concerns about education are heard. They keep our community informed about significant legislation impacting higher education and work alongside the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) to establish an annual legislative agenda.

In addition, the office advocates for students, faculty and administrators by engaging directly with elected officials and national organizations. They also coordinate annual advocacy visits to Richmond and Washington, D.C., where NOVA students can participate in the legislative process.

Please don’t miss this opportunity to learn how NOVA’s Office of Government Affairs champions our educational interests and how you can get involved!
