Emotional Intelligence Deep Dive Session 1: Personal Competency, Friday, Nov. 8 at 9
Join us for the first session of our in-person Emotional Intelligence (EI) training, focusing on Personal Competency. This in-person session will be held on Friday, November 8, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pender 4, Room 121 (3922 Pender Dr., Fairfax). You will learn to build a deeper understanding of your emotions—what drives them, what triggers them and how to effectively manage them. You’ll explore the importance of self-awareness, spending time with your emotions to understand what makes you tick and learning to recognize patterns that influence your responses. By embracing your emotions without fear or judgment, you’ll gain control over emotional “mistakes” and develop resilience in the face of challenges.
We’ll also dive into self-management, which involves managing your emotional responses to situations and people. You’ll learn techniques to prevent “emotional hijacking” and how high self-awareness leads to stronger self-management. With practical tools and interactive exercises, this session will equip you to navigate emotions more effectively, leading to better decision-making, improved relationships and a more balanced emotional life. Registration is still open! Please contact hrlearn@nvcc.edu if you need assistance in registering for this workshop.
