“AI and Teaching” Webinar Zoom Recording Now Available

November 7, 2024 / ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)

Dr. Michelle Baragona and Dr. Carlena Benjamin, from Northeast Mississippi Community College, presented an engaging, positive workshop on teaching with AI last week as part of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) on-going AI-centered faculty professional development. The Zoom recording is now available here.

“Leveraging AI from the Classroom to the Office” introduced faculty across disciplines to a variety of free tools we can start using with students in class today. Tools discussed ranged from creating avatars, designing lecture plans and making videos to creating supplemental teaching documents and study guides, and much more! There’s even an AI app that can support grant writing.

Dr. Michelle Baragona is the vice president of instruction at Northeast Mississippi Community College and a strong advocate for technology in education. Dr. Carlena Benjamin is the instructional technology specialist at Northeast Mississippi Community College with 20 years of experience teaching Biology. The workshop left participants excited and inspired to explore and play. If you missed it, we invite you to watch the workshop recording here.

In the Spring, CATE will facilitate a community of practice for faculty interested in trying out different AI tools in their teaching. Stay tuned to the DailyFlyer for more information on Spring professional development through CATE.
