Reminder: Complete Your 2024 Mandatory Training by Dec. 23
This is a friendly reminder for employees to complete the 2024 HR Mandatory Training Course if you have not done so already. As a valued member of the NOVA community, it’s important that you meet the training requirements set by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Don’t wait until the last minute! The deadline for completing all training modules is December 23, 2024, by 5 p.m. Employees who fail to complete the training by this date may be subject to disciplinary action. To avoid last-minute stress or system issues, we encourage you to complete the training as soon as possible.
Who must complete the training?
The 2024 Mandatory Training is required for ALL NOVA employees, including current faculty and staff, adjunct faculty, wage/P-14 employees and contractors.
Training Details:
The 2024 HR Mandatory Training Course consists of five online modules that take approximately 3.5 hours to complete. These modules are required annually and are mandated by the Code of Virginia, Executive Order, or DHRM policy.
Required Modules:
- Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy (20 minutes)
- Civility in the Workplace (45-50 minutes)
- Employee Safety and Disaster Awareness (30 minutes)
- Title IX at NOVA (20 minutes)
- Accommodations & Disabilities (20-30 minutes)
Note: Some of these modules may be similar to those completed in previous years, but they must be completed again as part of the annual requirement.

Already completed the 2024 Mandatory HR training course?
If you have already received confirmation that you have met the training requirement, there is no need to take any further action.
