Call for Faculty Volunteers: Ad-Hoc Committee on H.S. Dual Enrollment (HSDE) Discipline Support
The Office of Dual Enrollment is seeking faculty volunteers to serve on the High School Dual Enrollment (HSDE) Support for Disciplines Ad-Hoc Committee. This committee will play a key role in developing recommendations to support academic disciplines where a significant portion of faculty time is dedicated to supporting our Adjunct HSDE Faculty.
Purpose:
The committee will explore how NOVA can better support academic disciplines in which at least one-third of FTEs are taught through high school dual enrollment.
Charge:
The committee is tasked with developing recommendations aligned with VCCS policies, school district contracts and accreditation standards. These recommendations will focus on improving support for HSDE faculty and providing oversight for adjunct faculty, while also considering the budgetary implications and funding sources for any proposed compensation adjustments.
Composition of the Committee:
We are seeking five teaching faculty members for the committee. Disciplines with one-third or more FTEs taught through high school dual enrollment include:
- BUS, CHD, EMS, ENG, SPA, HIS, PLS, WLD
Timeline:
- Volunteer Form Deadline: Thursday, December 12, 2024
- Committee Announcement: Thursday, December 19, 2024
- Work Period: January 5, 2024 – March 21, 2025
