CommonHealth Wellnote

January 29, 2025 / Get Well

How can your Virginia State Employee Wellness Program help? CommonHealth offers diverse wellness programs for Virginia state employees through expert consultants. They provide in-person and virtual presentations, videos and seasonal challenges covering topics like stress, sleep, nutrition and exercise. These can be integrated into various workplace events, including meetings, conferences and lunch-and-learns. If you’re looking to book an event in February, connect sooner rather than later to ensure you get a date that works for you. Click here to view this week’s CommonHealth Wellnote. Check out this week’s highlights below.

Spotlight on Starting Smart:   Sticking with Your Goals
All-or-nothing thinking is a shortcut our brains take when considering our options, and it can lead to us making some errors when it comes to sticking to our goals. Open this week’s attachment to try the Good, Better, Best Technique.

Kaiser Permanente also has two useful worksheets to help you in your goal-setting journey: the Personal Action Plan and SMART Goal Setting. Access the Kaiser On-Demand Webinar series “Ready, Set, Goal” to learn more about these tools.

Try It This Week: Egg Roll in a Bowl
Here’s a fun spin on a classic Chinese restaurant appetizer. You can add extra veggies like thinly sliced red bell peppers, or mushrooms to the mix. Get the recipe here. Learn more about special pricing available to benefits-eligible employees, their spouses and adult dependents at WW.com/CommonHealth.

Benefits Buzz: Virtual Care
Do you have cold or flu symptoms, a sore throat or allergies? Benefitted employees can talk to a doctor anytime, anywhere! Visit the DHRM Benefits page under Online Doctor’s Visit for details.

Please contact your respective campus coordinator for questions regarding this week’s communication or the CommonHealth program.
