Know Your Heart Numbers and Join “Wear Red Day”

January 30, 2025 / Get Well

February is Heart Health Month. It is a reminder to refocus on the importance of the global fight against heart disease. The National Institutes for Health reports that heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. But you can do a lot to protect your heart. During Heart Health Month, learn more about your heart health and increase your heart-healthy behaviors.

You can’t manage what you don’t measure, which is why knowing your risk is critical to preventing cardiovascular disease. And knowing your risk starts with knowing your numbers.

This week:

  • Consider scheduling time to talk to your healthcare provider to learn about your critical health numbers: blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. Take action and manage your numbers.
  • Prepare to rock your red for this year’s National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 7. National Wear Red Day is part of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red for Women initiative. Join the AHA and other health and wellness advocates in their efforts to raise awareness and support for the fight against heart disease. Let’s all stand together with Go Red and take charge of our heart health; and the health of those we can’t bear to live without.

Keep an eye out for future Heart Health Daily Flyer messages throughout February.

Get Started Now; Your Heart Will Thank You Later.
