Black History Month Speaker: Edwin B. Henderson, II, Feb. 19 (New Date)

NOVA’s Annandale Lyceum Committee is pleased to host Edwin B. Henderson, II on Wednesday, Feb. 19 (note the new date, due to potential inclement weather). Henderson will discussion the history of organized athletics in the African American community.

Why it matters: An educator and historian, Henderson will highlight the impactful legacy of his grandfather, Dr. E. B. Henderson, known as the “Grandfather of Black Basketball.”

• He will share insights from his book, “The Grandfather of Black Basketball,” and explore how sports served as a platform for civil rights activism.
• This event will offer a unique opportunity to reflect on the contributions of Black trailblazers during Black History Month.

Event details: Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Annandale Campus (CA-302).
