Office of the Ombud is here to support you!

February 19, 2025 / General NOVA News

As the semester progresses, remember the Office of the Ombuds is your go-to for confidential and neutral support.

Why it matters: If you’re hesitant to formally report issues like unethical behavior, workplace misconduct or policy violations, the Ombuds provides a safe, independent space to address concerns regarding:

  • Student issues like violations of college policies.
  • Workplace misconduct including bullying, harassment and discrimination.

How it differs from HR: While HR’s Office of Employee Relations handles formal processes and disciplinary actions, the Ombuds offers informal conflict resolution and guidance.

  • Employee Relations uses formal procedures for misconduct analysis and disciplinary actions.
  • The Ombuds work informally to help navigate conflicts and offer educational resources.

Get in touch: For more information, reach out to the Office of the Ombuds at EmployeeOmbuds@nvcc.edu or Ombuds@nvcc.edu for student matters.
