SIS Advisement Report Update: Expired Catalog Alert
Thanks to the Computer Information Systems office, Student Advisement Reports in SIS have gotten a winter upgrade. Now, students in expired catalogs will see their advisement report is Not Satisfied, signaling the need to update their program of study catalog year.
Who is affected?
- Students in the 2017-18 catalog or earlier will see this note in their advisement report.
- Miss the message or have questions? Faculty/staff can email academics@nvcc.edu. (Please do not provide this address for students to email).
Why it matters:
- Students must graduate within seven years of their catalog’s publication.
Other students:
- Students in catalog years 2018-19 through 2024-25 will see a newly added note indicating when their catalog year will expire. See the NOVA Catalog “What’s New” page for a full list of when catalog years expire.
**Urgent Note for 2018-19 Catalog Students:
- Complete program requirements and apply for graduation this spring (March 1 deadline) or summer (June 1 deadline) to stay within the seven-year limit. Students unable to complete within this timeframe should be moved to a more recent catalog year.
