Photo Exhibit: “Flow, Crust, Rinse, Yield” by Mehves Lelic
The Woodbridge Campus Gallery is proud to present Flow, Crust, Rinse, Yield, a solo exhibition by photographer Mehves Lelic. This exhibition brings together two bodies of work from Lelic’s career: one exploring the immigrant experience through the simultaneous emotions of gratitude, grief, belonging and isolation; and another recent series of contact prints reflecting on the act of looking out from within the body, created in response to a diagnosis of a genetic mutation of unknown significance. Through these deeply personal and visually striking works, Lelic offers a meditation on identity, uncertainty and the passage of time.
The show will be on view until March 25. Gallery hours are Monday thru Thursday, 9 – 5 p.m.
Mehves Lelic is an Istanbul-born, Maryland-based artist, curator and educator. In her work, she explores the intertwining relationships between the female body, the environment and the self—particularly in the context of modernity and material culture.
