Help students improve note taking skills, today, 10:30 a.m.

February 28, 2025 / Events

CATE Captain and Geology Professor Caitlin Chazen and Student Success English Lead D’Layna Blauvelt will offer an important Zoom session to help you help your students take effective class notes, allowing them to get the most out of your class.

Why it’s important: Note taking is a foundational skill for academic success, yet many students struggle to develop effective strategies. This presentation will explore how faculty can support students in improving their note taking skills to enhance learning, memory retention and critical thinking.

We will share practical resources that faculty can integrate into their classrooms and introduce the Cornell Method, a structured approach to note taking. Additionally, faculty  participants will have the opportunity to share best practices and exchange strategies for teaching note taking in their courses.

What’s next: Join us on today at 10:30 a.m. for Effective Notetaking: Strategies for Faculty, Meeting ID: 504 059 5669.
