New HR Training Video: Streamlining Employee Separation

March 10, 2025 / HR News/Training

When an employee leaves the college, the employee or their supervisor are required to complete two essential forms: the 105-021: Separation Notification Form and the 105-022: Employment Separation Checkout Form. The 105-021 form should be submitted prior to the employee’s final day of employment. This form can be completed upon receipt of a written resignation letter from the employee, or if no letter is submitted, directly by the employee themselves. The form serves as the official notice of resignation.

To ensure full compliance with the college’s procedures and provide further clarity on this process, the Office of Human Resources has developed a comprehensive training video specifically designed for supervisors. This video covers all aspects of the employee separation process, whether the employee is voluntarily resigning, transferring internally or leaving under other circumstances. It is vital that supervisors understand and follow these steps to facilitate a smooth and efficient transition for the college and for the employee who is leaving. Click here to review the Employee Separation Process video. Please note that it is hosted on the college’s NOVAnet site, and you will need to log in to MyNOVA to view the video.

Supervisors are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with this process to ensure they are ready to manage employee separations effectively. We recommend that all supervisors take a few moments to watch the training video to gain a clear understanding of the required steps.
