Spotlight on Food as Fuel: National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month! Celebrate how food connects us! Food brings us together, linking us to culture, family and traditions. Sharing meals helps us learn about ingredients, preparation and the impact of food on our health. Review this week’s CommonHealth Wellnote to begin to explore how food shapes our connections and wellbeing.

This month, fuel your walks. Make small nutritional changes to be prepped and ready for Spring 2025 NOVA Walk Week!

Try It This Week: Eat Healthy and Reduce Food Waste – Get Creative with Your Leftovers!
Don’t let your leftovers go to waste! Transform meals into soups, salads or sandwiches by cutting up leftover veggies and cooked meats.

  • Use as a topping for salads or cooked grains like rice or pasta.
  • Wrap in a tortilla or stuff into a pita for a satisfying sandwich.
  • Combine to make soup to enjoy or freeze for future use.
  • Eat as a leftover meal later in the week.
  • Brown bag the leftovers for lunch.
