Register now! March 28 OER Summit
The Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) and OpenStax invites teaching faculty to register for the March 28 OER Summit.
Who can participate? From novice practitioners to OER experts, faculty from NOVA and across the VCCS are invited to learn about finding, creating and integrating OERs into their teaching. The summit will feature keynotes from VIVA, the VCCS OER Peer Group and OpenStax followed by afternoon hands-on workshops for all experience levels.
Why it matters: OER refers to Open Educational Resources. These are free teaching, learning and research resources available online, including textbooks. Using OERs reduces costs to students. Participants at the OER Summit will be invited to apply for an upcoming OER Academy hosted by CATE. Explore “All Things OER” during this interactive day of learning featuring representatives from OpenStax and VIVA. All skill levels are welcome! Space is limited, so please register by March 14.
