Ombuds: here to support you and your students!

March 13, 2025 / General NOVA News

As the semester progresses, the Office of the Ombuds is here to support you. We are a confidential, neutral and independent resource to help you explore options for:

  • Student issues (e.g., unethical behavior, policy violations).
  • Workplace misconduct (e.g., bullying, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, disruptive behavior).
  • Policy/procedure concerns (e.g., safety/health issues, misuse of state equipment, conflict of interest).
  • Provide procedural guidance to new or probationary employees on the appropriate methods for raising concerns with their supervisor or through other channels when details are unclear.

For informal guidance, help with navigating NOVA procedures or information on formal reporting processes and external resources that can help you make an informed decision, the Office of the Ombuds is here for you. Learn more by visiting the Office of the Ombuds website.

Contact us at EmployeeOmbuds@nvcc.edu (for employees) or Ombuds@nvcc.edu (for student matters).
