Introducing the Office of Care and Inclusion: Strengthening our commitment to student success

March 24, 2025 / General NOVA News

At NOVA, we remain unwavering in our mission to provide equitable access to affordable and exceptional higher education while advancing opportunities for all members of our community. Our core values — care, inclusion, excellence, integrity and respect — guide every part of our work as we continue to foster a culture of belonging and student success.

To further align with these values, we are pleased to announce that the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is now the Office of Care and Inclusion. This change reflects our continued dedication to our mission and core values, as well as our expanded focus on institutional effectiveness and student success. Our collegewide and campus-based Care and Inclusion Council and Committees will continue to support NOVA’s commitment to inspiring excellence and advancing opportunity.

We are also excited to welcome two new members to the Office of Care and Inclusion:

  • Jordan Rhone, J.D., NOVA’s equal opportunity and Title IX investigator, will provide essential support in investigating allegations of discrimination.  Jordan’s legal expertise will be an asset in upholding the college’s commitment to complying with laws and policies associated with Title IX, as well as equal employment opportunity and student grievances that relate to discrimination matters.
  • Caitlin Centineo, NOVA’s coordinator of inclusion and student success, will coordinate professional development and educational events that elevate the core value of inclusion and promote a culture of care across the college.

NOVA remains steadfast in its commitment to our mission and core values. If you have any questions about the Office of Care and Inclusion, please reach out to Dr. Nathan Carter.
