Employee Writing Group, Thursdays, 7-9 a.m.
Are you working on a writing project? Do you tend to be more productive when working alongside others engaged in similar work? Need moral support from being in the presence of the creative energy of peers? (Think studying with friends in the library…but online.) Join your NOVA colleagues on Thursday mornings from 7-9 a.m., for the Employee Writing Group and get that dissertation, novel or work report wrapped up!
What to expect: Just log into Zoom, type your writing goal in the chat at the beginning of the session, write for 45 minutes, take a brief break, write for 45 more minutes and share your progress in the chat at the end. You can leave your camera on or off. We won’t share our drafts or provide feedback in this group; instead, we just write on our own, but together.
Why it works: Writing accountability groups are a productivity technique that increases focus and motivation also known as “body doubling.” Working independently with others, even just an hour or two a week, can yield significant results.
If you think this technique would be helpful for you, email Indigo Eriksen to be added to the calendar invite.
