Micro-Credentials in Practice
Teaching faculty are invited to join our ongoing discussion on career readiness and micro-credentials.
What’s happening? This month we are joined by Jen Nardacci, technical and professional writing certificate lead, for a session focusing on the importance of technical and professional writing. This demonstration and discussion will focus on professional writing assignments applicable across college disciplines.
Who’s in? Members of the faculty committee will delve into micro-credentials attached to assignments in their respective areas. We will hear from:
-
-
- Ruth Stewart, English faculty (MA);
- Mark Brennan, philosophy (LO); and
- Daniel Kirsch, political science (AL).
-
How to participate: Register for Micro-Credentials in Practice for an overview of micro-credentials and a walkthrough of the process. This webinar will be held on Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m.
More on our micro-credential system within LASS: Teaching faculty can join any session to explore the various thematic areas offered and to assign a badge to an existing assignment, but you are not required to create a new assignment to participate. We ask that you look at your existing assignments and attach a career-focused micro-credential with a common theme. The micro-credential system is part of the Canvas platform and easy to attach. Many faculty teaching in person and through NOVA Online have joined at the mid-point of the semester.
