History 101 and the Year 1177 BC

As we begin the Fall Semester in History 101, we will likely be covering thousands of years very quickly.  We should definitely keep in mind the year 1177 BC as the year where a series cataclysmic events perhaps caused the end of the Mediterranean Bronze Age.  Was it climate change that led to scarcity, drought, famine, and desperation.  Eric Cline’s book discusses these events in historical detail.
