January 12, 2021 / Events

The Annandale Lyceum Committee is back with a full schedule for the spring 2021 semester with Lunch and Learn Sessions via Zoom. These will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays, starting with “Technology Speech” on Jan. 21 featuring Penn State’s Dr. Robert Ehrmann.

This is the first of seven Lyceum presentations this semester. These will include a four-part Black Women Lead series for Black History Month in February, a Women’s History Month Panel in March and a World Autism Day speech in April.

The full schedule with registration information can be found on the Lyceum Committee Blog. Advanced registration is required for each presentation, and a confirmation e-mail will then be sent containing the link to join the presentation. The Lunch and Learn Sessions via Zoom are open to faculty, staff, students and anyone else who wishes to participate.

Dr. Ehrmann, managing director of the Penn State Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization, will discuss the wide variety of opportunities for the future of nanotechnology and how that affects each of us.

This presentation should be of interest not only to faculty and staff, but also to NOVA students as education and workforce opportunities are plentiful in this field.

An Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Penn State, Dr. Ehrmann directs the Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization, which focuses on addressing the incorporation of nanotechnology into secondary education, post-secondary education and industry applications.

He previously worked for Corning for 23 years, where he held multiple positions in engineering and product development and held management positions in engineering, production and project management.
