CHORDEILES Now Accepting Student Submissions
CHORDEILES (kor-Die-lees) is NOVA’s new student publication. It is an online peer-reviewed journal of interdisciplinary science writing authored by NOVA’s students. CHORDEILES is also (going to be) run by NOVA student editors.
Check out the CHORDEILES publication site and read our Mission Statement: https://blogs.nvcc.edu/chordeiles/
CHORDEILES will use Faculty Volunteers as Reviewers for publication. Since CHORDEILES is interdisciplinary, we will need faculty in every discipline area to read and evaluate student submissions.
- Any faculty member (full or part-time) who would like to join the list of reviewers can email us at the link above. This is a great AAPDO for SERVICE.
- Faculty also serve as “sponsors” to their students when they submit to CHORDEILES, and a faculty member must “sign off” on each student submission. Consequently, the faculty member also will be recognized when their students publish in CHORDEILES.
- Any faculty or staff know a student who would be a great editor, or maybe wants to learn? CHORDEILES is run by a student editing board, and we are now looking for student editors. Send likely prospects our way, please!
- Please take a moment to promote CHORDEILES in your classes and encourage students to submit! Share the link!
- Please consider designing “writing” or creative projects in your classes that could lead to publication in CHORDEILES.
- Interested in joining the CHORDEILES Faculty Board? We need members from other campuses! Send an email!
