The Brain’s Crescendo: How Music Training Impacts Child Dev., March 23

The Annandale Lyceum Committee would like to invite faculty, staff, students, and the community to attend our in-person or Zoom, multi-disciplinary presentations. Our theme for the Spring 2022 speaker series is “The Power of Music.”

If you’re interested in seeing what you’ve missed already, please feel free to check out our first two events, “The Multi-cultural Roots of American Music” by Dr. Kevin Wright, and “In search of the Blues: Three Chords and the Truth” by Jo Matyas and Craig Jones. These recordings were produced by NOVA’s talented TV/Video services team and we thank them for their support and work in providing these recordings for the NOVA community.

Friday, April 15 at 1 p.m. in the CE Forum. “Clan in the Front: How Wu-Tang Transcended the Rap Game to Become Cultural Icons” by author S.H. Fernando.

Thursday, April 28 at 1 p.m. over Zoom. “Physics and Music” by Professor Alex Weiss, University of Texas at Arlington. Zoom registration forthcoming.
