Hello Tau Nu Members,

Our Fall Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017. Come and join us in celebrating the induction of new members this fall. Remember to bring family and friends as your guests.

The Ceremony begins at 7 pm in Bisdorf Auditorium, AA 196 on the Alexandria campus. We are excited to announce that Mr. Jason Middough, Northern Virginia Community College Board Member, has agreed to be our keynote speaker. Refreshments will be provided after the ceremony.

An Invitation to Eligible Members

You have achieved a level of academic success at NOVA that makes you eligible to join the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (completed at least 12 credits, earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, currently enrolled).   You received an email invitation with an access code to join the Honor Society in the second week of September but you haven’t joined yet.  Why haven’t you joined?  Here’s some additional information:

Phi Theta Kappa is the officially recognized Honor Society for two year college students across the country.   You are being recognized for what you have already accomplished academically.  There is a one-time membership fee of $85 which covers the international, Virginia regional and chapter local dues.  Joining the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society does not mean a commitment to get involved in chapter activities!   This is a recognition of what you have already achieved.

Benefits

  • You will receive a packet with your membership card, a certificate and a newsletter
  • “Phi Theta Kappa Member” will be typed on your official transcript at NOVA
  • You are eligible to apply for Phi Theta Kappa scholarships at many four year universities across the country (see more information on scholarships, below).
