Banned Books Week 2012

Banned Books Week 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of celebrating our freedom to read.  The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees this freedom.  The books inside the library display were actually challenged by individuals who sought to remove these titles from schools or libraries.  The challenges were an attempt to restrict access to this material by others.  Within the display, you can read about each of these challenged or banned titles.  Each “banned book” is contained within a paper bag for discrete checkout.  Don’t worry, we won’t tell!

Feel free to contact your friendly library staff member with any questions.
