Alexandria Language Arts Professor Esther Kahn has been making good use of her time away from the classroom by helping her daughter Sonia (25) make and distribute protective masks to donate to hospitals and retirement communities. Sewing is Sonia’s hobby, and her mom is helping distribute the colorful masks.

Art/Art History Professor Rosemary Gallick of the Manassas Campus created Pandemic Paintings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a therapeutically optimistic way of coping and wanted to share the visual experience. In addition to teaching at NOVA, Gallick is also a member of Fairfax Art League, Vienna Art Society and Reston Art League.
