PICTURE OF JESSE FOR HIS ADAPTIVE RUGBY TEAM

MEET JESSE!

My name is Jesse Graham, I’m a 40 year old 13 year Air Force veteran and a second year OTA student.
I offer a unique perspective: On March 14, 2014, I was in a freak snowboarding accident that resulted in me becoming a quadriplegic. I am a very high functioning quad who has spent about 10 years working along side OT’s and PT’s in mentoring and training individuals newly injured in learning how to live their lives after a spinal cord injury.
Between 2008 and 2012, I was an technical training instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base teaching tactical aircraft maintenance. Obviously the subjects are quite different, but spending four years as a teacher helped me learn how to relate new information to information students have already acquired,  which makes learning so much easier. My strongest subject is neuroscience, but I am comfortable working with pretty much anything that applies to OT and PT.
I traveled the world and participated in a lot of different adaptive sports over the last 10 years, so feel free to ask any questions given that its an Olympic/ Paralympic year.
P.S. The picture is Wheelchair Rugby.
