Thank you for Haunting with us!

Hello Horticulture Club!

We just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who participated in last night’s Horticulture Haunt! We wouldn’t have been able to have such an amazing night without everyone who participated, and helped with planning, set-up, and breakdown!
We had a devilishly good time last night carving pumpkins, listening to music, snacking, taking pictures at the photo booth, and dressing up in our finest costumes! In case you missed out on all the fun, here’s what happened!
  • Micheal and Zavian carved out a win in the pumpkin carving contest while Thomas and Melissa came dressed to win the costume contest!
  • The pumpkins left behind from the contest are being displayed on the wall between the horticulture head house LS 114A and the greenhouse!
  • The photos left behind from the photo booth are being displayed in the horticulture study room LS104 on the top of the bulletin board!
If you missed out on all the fun, don’t worry! We still have 4 more events in the semester that you can participate in! Two Fall Frolicks in November, the Poinsettia Plant Sale at the end of November/Beginning of December, and the Big Feild Trip at the end of the semester (which voting for is still happening at https://forms.gle/Pdi4pwrv1DMkkK8r9 vote now if you haven’t already!). Make sure you watch your emails and the Hort Club Instagram page for more details about the upcoming events!
If you took any pictures last night, don’t forget to tag us on Instagram @NVCCHortClub and use the hashtag #horticulturehaunt so that we can showcase them! The photo booth is also still up in the study room, so you can stop by and take your own spooky selfies to be a part of the fun!
Have a hauntingly good weekend! And we’ll see each other again soon!

VNLA Reopens Certified Horticulturist Exam!

The Virginia Certified Horticulturist (VCH) exam is now available!

To make the VCH exam available year-round, the VNLA partnered with Pearson Vue Testing Centers. You can now register and schedule to take the VCH exam on a date and time that is convenient for you.

Two options are available when you register for the exam:

Choose to take the exam at a Pearson location closest to you.

You will receive an email from Pearson inviting you to visit the Pearson site to schedule a date to take the exam.

Choose to take the exam remotely via a remote Pearson proctor.

This option requires you to set a date and time to take the exam. The exam and remote proctor will be available only during the time you select.

If you choose the remote option, you will receive 2 emails from onlineproctoring@strasz.com. The first email is related to setting up your computer. It explains how to test webcam, device camera, microphone, etc.

The second email provides you a link to the exam. This link will only work on the date and time you scheduled and only when you are connected with a remote proctor.

Use the following link to register, pay and choose one of the options described above: https://reg-vnla.epic-exam.com/register
