Did you know October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month? Since 2004, the President of the United States and Congress have declared the month of October to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a month dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and promoting good cybersecurity practices among individuals, businesses, and organizations.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, NOVA Workforce is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new Google Career Certificate program: Google Cybersecurity Certificate.
This online, self-paced program, developed by Google, is designed to help individuals with no previous experience find their first job in the field of cybersecurity.
The innovative curriculum includes an introductory first course; six courses that progressively build learners’ working knowledge of networks, security models, and tools used to assess and address threats, risks, and vulnerabilities; and one final course focused on escalation to stakeholders and decision making. In the final course, learners will also write a resume and cover letter to prepare for applying and interviewing for jobs in cybersecurity. Learners will also complete hands-on activities that allow them to demonstrate key understandings and skills and produce artifacts to show potential employers.
The program is designed to be completed within six months, working 10 – 15 hours per week.
