Important IT Tips

VPN:

KEEP IN MIND THAT YOUR COMPUTER MAY ALREADY HAVE THE VPN SOFTWARE INSTALLED, Please follow the instruction for the VPN software already installed on your computer!! If VPN software is not installed in your computer, please go to the link above.

For Palo Alto GlobalProtect:

From Start –> Program launch GlobalProtect

Click the Connect button.

Enter your NVCC LAN account user name and password

Click the Sign In button

For Cisco AnyConnect VPN:

1.Run Cisco AnyConnect client. This can be found by clicking the Windows Icon –> Cisco –> Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility.

  1. The Address bar will be empty.  Enter the address you see below (The same address that you initially navigated to download the software: nvccanyconnect.nvcc.edu)

Click Connect

  1. You will be asked to login. Enter your NVCC credentials as seen below. Press OK.

If prompted to login again, do so. Make sure that you are entering your password correctly. You may need to contact the IT Helpdesk to make sure that your NVCC account has a valid password and isn’t locked out.  If the login was successful you will see the following icon in your system tray.

Mapping your Network Drive (Make sure you are connected to VPN):

In the Search box (far lower left corner of your screen) type PC

The This PC window will pop up. Right click on This PC and select (left click) Map Network Drive

The Map Network Drive window will pop up

From the Drive drop down, pick any available letter.

In the Folder filed type the path to you network drive:

For H (your personal folder): \\n-eqnacifs1\[YourUserName]

For G (departmental Folder): \\n-eqnacifs2\Group\AL\[DepartmentAbbriviation}

You can reset your password and unlock your MyNova account from the MyNova log in page.

You MUST remember the answer to your security questions (for both NVCC and MyNova).
