NOVA’s Alexandria Campus has been looking forward to the new academic building coming in 2015. The Groundbreaking Ceremony was a success with more than 50 guests in attendance.
The new three-story 80,000-square-foot academic building will be a state-of-the-art facility, which will incorporate several key elements such as transparent spaces, flexible uses and a visually exciting architectural environment, all in an effort to draw in students and engage their passions.

What: Screening of Anonymous People and Panel Discussion
Date: Wednesday, 10 September 2014
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Where: Bisdorf Building | AA-196
In recognition of National Recovery Month the NOVA Student Chapter of VAAP, and the Women’s Center is proud to present The Anonymous People, a feature documentary film about the 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Deeply entrenched social stigma and discrimination have kept recovery voices silent and faces hidden for decades . . . UNTIL NOW. Just like women with breast cancer, or people with HIV/AIDS, courageous addiction recovery advocates have begun to step out of the shadows to fuel a passionate new public recovery movement that will transform public perception, and ultimately the response to the addiction crisis.
Included in the free event are a panel discussion, a casual meal, and an opportunity to become a member of the Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals (VAAP), the state affiliate of NAADAC – The Association for Addiction Professionals at a discounted rate. 1.5 CE credits will also be available.
