Mathematics Placement Guidelines

Since the credit-level math course you take depends on your program of study (“major”), you should consult the College Catalog or your advisement report.

The Math Placement Guidance for Students will help you determine which mathematics course you should take.


  • –the test can only be taken once.
  • –90 minutes to complete your test
  • –you may want to review the online student handbook before you begin
  • –scrap paper is allowed and four function calculator
  • Spanish Placement:

SPA Placement:

Students interested in registering for Spanish Courses (SPA 102, SPA 201, and SPA 202) should contact one of the Campus Testing Centers and ask to take the online Canvas placement test.

  • Part 1: 45 minutes
  • Part 2-4: 30 minutes each.

ESL Placement Assessment:

This assessment has two parts and should take less than two hours to complete. It can only be taken once.

  1. Reading Comprehension section with 40 multiple-choice questions. 45 Minutes
  2. Writing section, which includes a short reading to which you will write a response and an open question to which you will write a response. 90 minutes

Students may use excess financial aid to buy books and supplies through the Bookstore.
May 4 – June 1
Tuition payment deadline if you register by May 3. If you register May 4 or after, you must pay your tuition before 5:00 p.m. the next day. May 4
Memorial Day holiday for students, faculty and staff. College offices closed. May 25
Financial aid adjustments begin. Classes added on or after this date for the current term will not increase student eligibility for financial aid grants. Aid may be reduced for students enrolled in less than 12 eligible credits. Information on financial aid awards, disbursements and refunds is available here. June 2
Last day to apply for Summer graduation. June 1
Independence Day holiday for students, faculty and staff. College offices closed. July 3-4
