The Virginia Network

The American Council on Education® or ACE, is a national membership organization that provides programs and services, research and insights, policy and advocacy, leadership and advancement opportunities to the higher education community. ACE supports higher education professionals to best serve their institutions, communities and beyond. A program that ACE provides to the community it the ACE Women’s Network.

The ACE Women’s Network is a national system working to advance and support women in higher education. Each state network is led by a state chair who works with at least one presidential sponsor and institutional representatives from each institution in the state. The state networks are linked together through the ACE Network. In the Commonwealth of Virginia our network is known as the Virginia Network. Working to achieve both the mission and goals of ACE and the ACE Women’s Network, the Virginia Network offers such opportunities to women in higher education in Virginia, including an annual state conference and leadership development opportunities. As an institution of higher education in Virginia, NOVA is an active member in the Virginia Network.

To participate in the Virginia Network, NOVA developed its own network to invite women from across the organization to take part in a professional organization that promotes women at NOVA and beyond.
