Drum Roll Please….

The music video that was created for the song Dangerous Girl by WorstKase Scenario is finally completed and uploaded to thsi site.  Please view it and the accompanying documentary on the video page of this blog site.

The students from the PHT 130 class worked very hard to finish both projects and to hone their skills they learned in class throughout the spring semester.  they also had the opportunity to work with 522 Productions on the shoot, learning from industry professionals.  We are very thankful to 522 Productions for their time, generosity, and patience.

We would love to hear comments on the video as we continue to prmote this class to prospective students who are considering taking the course in the future.

We also understand there are some minor mistakes in the music video but please know we were on an extremely limited budget and schedule (we did the entire shoot in one long day).  However, I am very satisfied with the professional quality of the completed work and I am extremely proud of all of the students from the spring 2012 PHT 130 course.

There are many others to thank for their time and I will do so in a separate post but I wanted to get this video on-line.  We will eventually load it on YouTube, as well as, the personal Web site of the band and the site of the band’s label.

We will let you know all of those details later.

Publicity for PHT 130 Class

Here is an article in the NOVA newspaper, NOVA Fortnightly, (serving all Northern Virginia Community College campuses and satellite locations), detailing one writer’s observation of the PHT 130 (Video Production I) music video shoot this past spring 2012 semester.

As this program continues to expand, we are hopeful to include bigger and bigger projects, involving many industry professionals to add to the learning experience.

Starting next week on this blog, we will start highlighting the film courses offered on this campus, so please check back.

Also, we hope to premiere both the video itself and the behind-the-scenes documentary in about two weeks.

Raffle Winners

Congratulations to those who entered the raffle contest.  We selected four winners last week in a random drawing of those students who signed into the music Website.

Matt Sita was our big winner of a brand new Nook eReader.

There were also winners of AMC movie tickets, Tim’s Rivershore restaurant gift certificates, and exclusive WorstKase Scenario demo CDs.

Thank you to everyone who participated and I hope we can continue to do contests like this in the future.

What a Success!

Wow, we had a tremendous turnout to meet the company representatives from Tru DIVA Productions and Hollywood Outlaws during our actor/model/intern casting event yesterday.

If you missed the excitement, please post a comment on this blog and I will try to reach out to you for inclusion in their furture projects.  However, they are casting now, so do not hesitate.

Also, please read the previous post to find out how to enter the week-long raffle for some great prizes.

And, on a final note, next week, we should have an idea of the release of the new music video from WorstKase Scenario and we will start a daily look at the different film courses being offered on the Woodbridge campus of NOVA.

Videos are Coming!

A big inspiration for this Site is to display the video works of our students here on the Woodbridge campus of NOVA.  As such, we are in the process of doing a test in the coming week to get some videos posted for everyone to view.

Also, at the conclusion of the semester, we will post many of the final individual video projects of our students from PHT 130 and their documentary of the making of the music video for the newly signed band WorstKase Scenario.

And speaking of the music video, stay tuned for the on-line premiere of the music video for Dangerous Girl and hear about all of the work that went into this production that was completed by our PHT 130 students working in partnership with 522 Productions.
