Professional Development Opportunity for Teachers in PWC, Manassas and Manassas Park!

CTE, English, Math, Social Studies, and Science Teachers have an opportunity to participate in George Washington University’s Teachers in Industry Project this summer!

The GW Teachers in Industry Project (GW TIP) is an initiative to provide middle and high school core content teachers the opportunity to experience firsthand the work environment for which they are preparing their students. Externship experiences at top regional businesses allow teachers in the English, math, science, social studies and CTE content areas to become aware of the core knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the STEM-focused 21st century workforce.

 Participants will receive a $2,000 stipend (funded by SySTEMic Solutions) upon completion of the project and teachers are eligible for 90 recertification points.

Celebrate Science at the 2nd USA Science and & Engineering Festival!

A two day EXPO at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. on April 28-29, 2012 – over 3,000 fun, hands-on, interactive activities and 150 stage shows for all ages. There will be stuff for the mildly curious to the science professional. You can learn about fun topics like the science of the magic of Harry Potter, the mathematics of jump roping, the physics of superheroes, the chemistry of Thanksgiving Dinner, the engineering of baseball bats and balls, the science behind special effects in movies, trends in Global Warming, renewable energy sources of the future.
 
You can operate state-of-the-art robots, laugh with science comedians, be mesmerized by science magicians and mathemagicians, converse with astronauts, Nobel Laureates, storm chasers, science celebrities like Bill Nye the Science Guy, cast members of the MythBusters, Big Bang Theory and NCIS, and even scientists of the past, fly a fighter jet simulator, enter a virtual reality environment, be a CSI agent, learn how to transform your car so it can run off a cuisinart….and you can get info about scholarships, internships, mentorship and future jobs.

Robotics Camp Registration – Now Open!

Registration for our Summer Robotics Camps opens today!  We have 14 camp offerings this year at two convenient eastern and western Prince William County locations.  This year, we have added the JASON ROV for those students interested in underwater robotics and ocean discovery. Imagine. Design. Build! Summer Robotics Camp Information

SySTEMic Solutions and the Division of Science and Applied Technologies are excited to offer the 2012 Summer Robotics Camps. 

This summer, we have more camps than ever covering additional robotics platforms and age groups.  All camp registration will now be electronic allowing us to communicate more efficiently about our current and future offerings as well as allowing a variety of payment options.   Registration will begin on March 15.  Check out all of the camp offerings this year!
