About PSY 200

Course description:

PSY 200 is a one semester introduction to the field of psychology. You will learn about the modern perspectives in psychology and the major subfields, including neuroscience, human development, cognition, and psychological disorders. You will also gain experience in reading about research and expressing ideas orally and in writing.

If you already took PSY 201 or PSY 202, you cannot get credit for PSY 200.

We recommend that you complete ENG 111 before taking PSY 200.

Textbook:

The textbook is “Introducing Psychology, 4th ed.” by Schacter, Gilbert, Nock, and Wegner (2018) published by Worth. We will also use the online LaunchPad materials.

On the first day of class, we will discuss how to purchase and access the online materials. It is very important to attend on the first day.
